Q: |
I have used bacquacil only in my pool. Have not opened yet and have not put any chemicals in since last September. What would I need to do to prepare my water to use your system? |
A: |
I find it is often easier to drain a bacquacil pool that has more than three
years consecutive bacquacil use. If not we shock the pool 24 hours apart
with 10lbs non-chlorine shock, active ingredient potassium
peroxymonopersulphate, assuming the pool is 30,000 gallons or less. Either
way bring your calcium up to 400ppm in the spring so you wont need to check
the rest of the year. Lower the ph to 6.8 neutral at 90 degrees water temp
and turn the Ecosmarte unit on. If you use the non-chlorine shock method,
you will need to clean our cell every other week with vinegar or
acid until the gelatin residue stops from the expired Bacquacil. I would strongly recommend using our Glass Media for sand filters which makes everything work smoother, waiting until after the two shocks to convert the sand. Bacquacil has gone to a change the sand every year system and the Glass with Ecosmarte should last five years. You'll love the water with Ecosmarte and it will pay for itself in short order on a Bacquacil conversion. The glass is in-stock in both Kansas and Missouri. |
