PHOSPHATES
WHERE DO THE PHOSPHATES COME FROM IN
MY POOL?
Metal removers
Your city water
Fertilizer
WHAT ARE THE SIGN’S OF PHOSPHATES IN
MY POOL
You are unable to raise the copper level in your pool
I am always ionizing
Pool is always cloudy
Getting frequent bouts of algae
HOW DO I REMOVE THE PHOSPHATES IN MY
POOL?
1)With phosphate levels of 1000 or less use
Phos-Free from Natural Chemistry
Follow directions and make sure to backwash Filter
after 48 hours of ion with the Phos-Free
2) With
Phosphate levels over 1000 use Aluminum Sulfate
Start by raising the ph to 7.4, and over filling the
pool (Vacuuming to waste will use a lot of water) then put the filter valve to
Recirculate (this bypasses the filter) and add 5# of Aluminum Sulfate per
10,000 Gal’s let the water in the pool turn over for 4 hours and then shut
every thing off for 24 to 36 hours.
The phosphates as well as other suspended items will
drop to the bottom of the pool.
Next set the filter valve on Waste (this bypasses the
filter and sends the water right out the back wash line)
Vacuum the pool in the waste position until the
bottom is clear.
Then back wash the filter to clear any phosphates in it,
Rinse next.
Put valve back to filter and adjust the ph to 6.8
If you have a push pull valve or a bag filter you
will need a separate vacuum pump to perform this.
That will require the pump set up on the deck with one
end of a vac hose to the suction and one end to the vac head and a backwash
hose to the outlet, when recirculating put the backwash hose in the pool for 4
hours, then when vacuuming the pool put the backwash out on the lawn or out in
the street.
When finished lower ph to 6.8
