CONFIRMING STEPS: Send this datasheet with work order when troubleshooting an ECOsmarte control system.

• Programmable • CO2 - Solenoid / Injector / Check Valves Often the problem is NOT the box and the controller can be reset after other issues are resolved.

DIAGNOSING PROGRAMMABLES

Low Voltage Plate Alarm -
Possible causes:
• Build up on plates; Clean with FIVE parts WATER, ONE part ACID.
• Phosphates over 500 (Sea Klear, ZERO Phos)
• TDS over 3500 (Water drained back)
• Chamber leads connected wrong (follow decal)
Unplug chamber wires, enter turn off 15 minutes. If after 15 minutes the controller and four possible causes do not eliminate the error message, SEND the box in as the software has crashed or a relay has gone bad.

No Screen -
Test outlet with lamp, plug in ECOsmarte box, turn on/off. Flip toggle switch on the right side of box several times leaving it in the up position. Unplug chamber wires from chamber and try turning the box on and off.

CO2: Tank, Regulator Valve or Fitting - Leaking, Short Tank Life.
   1. Leak - Determine where leak is coming from first with soap and water
   2. Nylon washer in?
   3. Is there continuous bubbling in the CO2 Injection Chamber?

CO2: Not Injecting -
CO2 output enabled from the ACC? Check programming on/off/timed enter to set. Unplug hose. CO2 tank full, valve wires hooked up, LED light on solenoid, clean chamber (twice per year - 5 parts water 1 part acid)

	Programmable with CO2 Box, Chamber with Check Valve, Solenoid, Regulator. The regulator has a nylon washer that must install at start-up and be saved thru tank change out.
	Solenoid/Regulator: Two Models:       ALKON 1997-2005       Clippard 2006-present The Solenoid unplugs as pictured; usually dry ice forms with coil failure, a plugged check valve can overheat the coil causing it to fail. A failed Solenoid can cause a box relay to fail. The Clippard Solenoid with an indicator light was introduced in 2006. Both models have a 3 year warranty and a 4 to 6 year life.

Disassembling a Solenoid: Clippard, ALKON disassembles identically.

	A. Remove the screw that holds the wire connector to the coil.		B. Remove the wire connector from the coil.
	C. Twist off screw top of the coil.		D. Remove the coil from the valve.

An ALKON can not be replaced by a Clippard and vice versa, we stock both.

Injector/CO2 Inline CHECK VALVE Insert (New Sept. 2010) The piece inserts into existing tubing (left) to retrofit all existing pools, providing a redundant system to prevent pool water from backing up into the CO2 tubing. This insert can be used instead of changing out the brass check valve. DIAGRAM A from front.
